Class B: Metal Casting
From wax to wearable—watch your design transform into shining metal.
Service Description
******************************************************************************************* 📌 This class can be taken: 🔹 Right after Wax Carving for a complete “design-to-ring” experience in one day. ︎🔹 Separately on its own—we’ll provide simple wax or 3D-printed ring blanks if you’d like to experience casting without carving your own wax. ⚠️ Please note: ✨ Delft clay casting works beautifully for simpler forms, but more complex styles may need to be sent out for professional casting in silver, gold, or platinum. If that’s the case, we’ll guide you through the options. ******************************************************************************************* Casting is where the magic happens: your carved wax design is transformed into solid metal. In this class, you’ll experience Delft clay casting with sterling silver and learn the hands-on process of turning wax into jewelry. Our instructors will guide you step by step: from preparing the mold, to heating and pouring molten silver, to the moment your design emerges in solid form. You’ll also refine your raw casting—cutting off sprues, filing, sanding, and polishing—until your ring shines with a professional finish. What you’ll learn: * Preparing the mold for delft clay casting * The process of melting and pouring silver * Cleaning up and refining your raw casting * Techniques for polishing and achieving your desired finish Jewelry-making is more than creating an object—it’s capturing a moment, a memory, or a symbol of love and wearing it close. By joining this class, you’ll walk away not only with a unique ring, but also with the unforgettable experience of bringing your vision to life.
