Service Description

Silver clay is a magical material: soft and moldable like clay, but transforms into 99.9% pure silver when fired. In this hands-on class, you’ll start with a small lump of silver clay and shape it into a one-of-a-kind ring, pendant, or earrings. We’ll walk you through the basics—how to flatten, fold, join pieces, and carve your design. You can keep it simple or add fun textures and shapes to make it yours. After you’ve shaped your piece and it’s dry, we’ll fire it in the kiln for you. The clay burns away, leaving behind real silver. After that, you’ll sand and polish it to a shiny finish. The session is split into two parts: The first segment (about 1 hour and 15 minutes) is instructor-led, where you’ll learn how to shape and build your piece step by step. After that, there’s a break of around 45 minutes while we fire your piece in the kiln—during that time, you’re welcome to grab a snack, take a walk, or relax in the studio. Once firing is complete, you’ll return for the second segment (about 30 minutes or more), where you’ll polish your piece and add the final touches. Most projects can be completed within 3 to 3.5 hours. If your design is more detailed or you’d like extra time to polish your piece, the session may run longer. We’ll always let you know first—extended studio time may come with a small hourly fee. ✨ Good to know: The class includes 5g of silver clay, which is enough for a simple ring design up to about size 6.5–7 or a small pendant or pair of earrings. If you’d like to create something larger, thicker, or with decorative elements, you’re welcome to purchase more clay during class. Want to add a stone? We’ve got options—gemstones are available starting at $1 depending on size and style. No prior experience needed. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a finished piece of real silver jewelry you made from scratch.
